Train to Teach

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

The Compton SCITT stands for ‘School Centred Initial Teacher Training’ and means that The Compton awards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to its growing number of trainees.

SCITT trainee teachers work alongside MLT’s outstanding staff all year before qualifying as teachers. Senior teachers from The Compton and SCITT subject specialists from the SCITT Partnership deliver first class training in school each week. This ensures that trainee teachers engage with the best and most current educational research, which they then put into practice in their school placements.

The SCITT’s strap line states that “trainees will receive an immersive training programme where they are working alongside excellent teachers with current and relevant experience.”
